Utmost care must be exercised while selecting the electric wires and cable considering the amount of damage that it can cause to buildings. A powerful cable is a combination of two or more electrical conductors, that are usually held together with an overall sheath. The assembly is used for transmission of electrical power. The power cables can also be installed as permanent wiring within buildings, buried in the ground, run overhead, or exposed. Flexible power cables are used for portable devices, mobile tools and machinery. The modern power cables are available in a variety of sizes, materials, and types. Large single insulated conductors are also known as power cables.
